Joey Figueroa was fittingly born in Chicago, the city that introduced House music to the world. He began his DJ career at a young age, just as House music began to spread throughout the world.

Joey’s passion for music is fueled by his constant search for new sounds coupled with his early exposure to disco, classical, Latin, and modern dance music. He draws inspiration from similarly diverse artists such as Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Ralphi Rosario, Julian "Jumpin" Perez, Steve "Silk" Hurley, Edward "Get Down" Crosby, Andy "Mix'n" Moy, Mark Imperial, John Curley and the legendary sounds of Chicago’s 102.7 FM (WMBX). Joey still cherishes his roots in Chicago, where artists like Derrick Carter, Diz, Mark Grant, and others, share his hometown and his passion for music

In 1986, that passion led to his tutelage on the turntables, and shortly he was mixing at underground parties, events and club venues on Chicago's North Side. This success only pushed him harder and he began learning the essentials of producing House music, which by that time was the energy and heartbeat of Chicago’s storied music scene. His performances continued to expand, taking him to university towns throughout the Midwest, and then to regular live performances in Florida. Over the years, Joey continued to expand and refine his musical approach. He then moved to the Bay Area, where Joey established residencies in San Francisco while still frequenting Chicago to headline at venues. With a growing demand for his sound, Joey continues to support the dance scene on a regular basis by exposing crowds to various genres. His love of music is evident in how he is able to masterfully mix such a wide array of music. This passion for music and his meteoric rise as a DJ in the United States quickly opened doors for him to explore various genres throughout the world, including Tokyo (Japan), Sao Paulo (Brazil) and now Spain. In October 2007, Joey, and his never-ending passion for music, made Barcelona, Spain one of his homes, while he maintains residencies at top venues in San Francisco and Chicago.

Joey’s true gift is his musical diversity. He is able to play House, Bossa Nova, Retro, Reggae, Hip-Hop and more all seamlessly on any given night. The crowd will constantly be guessing what he will play next to elevate the energy on the dance floor. The one thing they will not be guessing about is the experience they will have when he is mixing the music. His sound is truly unique. Welcome to Joey’s passion: MADMUSIQUE
